AAPG names executive director

David Curtiss has been appointed executive director of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the AAPG Foundation.

TULSA, Oklahoma – David Curtiss has been appointed executive director of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the AAPG Foundation.

Curtiss previously was director of the AAPG Geoscience and Energy Office in Washington, D.C. He has a bachelor’s degree in geology from Wheaton College, a master’s degree in earth resources management from the University of South Carolina and a master’s in business administration from the University of Utah.

The AAPG Executive Committee has named AAPG CFO David Lange to the newly created post of deputy executive director of the association and foundation.

Lange joined AAPG as business director in 2002 and was named CFO in 2006. He is responsible for oversight of all financial activities.
