TGS/DMNG prepare Arctic 2D survey

ASKER, Norway -- TGS expects to start acquisition early next month of a new 7,700-km (4,784-mi) 2D seismic survey in the Russian Arctic Ocean.

M/V Akademik Fersman will initially acquire 4,500 km (2,796 mi) in the Laptev Sea before tranferring to the East Siberian Sea to acquire an additional 3,200 km (1,988 mi). The progam should be completed in October.
The survey is being conducted in partnership with Dalmornefte Geophysica Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (DMNG), under a 2D co-operation agreement announced in January.

DMNG will handle processing of the data, and this will be made available to clients from late 1Q 2012.
