ABERDEEN, UK – TAQA Bratani has taken over from Total as operator of the Otter field in the UK northern North Sea.

Otter, in license P.226 block 210/15a and P.1021 block 210/20d, produces around 8,000 boe/d via a subsea tieback to the TAQA Bratani-operated Eider platform.

This is the first phase of a transaction the company signed last September, which will eventually lead to ownership of Total’s entire equity of 81% in the two licenses.

Leo Koot, managing director of TAQA Bratani, said: “Otter…adds production to our existing infrastructure and extends the field life of Eider. Because we are operating Eider we can generate more value from the Otter field than any other operator.

"This transaction is an excellent fit with our strategic objectives and again presents us with the opportunity to grow production and further develop the blocks.”
