Shell contracts Olympus marine instrumentation from BMT

TEDDINGTON, UK – Shell Offshore Inc. has contracted BMT Scientific Marine Services Inc. to provide a marine instrumentation system to the Olympus TLP in the Mars B development in the Gulf of Mexico.

The marine instrumentation will be a computer-based system to acquire, display, and record vessel, marine and environmental data. The subsystems are marine instrumentation, tendon instrumentation, ballast monitoring, topside tank level monitor, human/machine interface, and historical archive software.
