OSLO, Norway – Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has issued consents for wide-ranging programs throughout the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.
Two are for exploration drilling. GDF SUEZ E&P Norge has authorization to drill well 7124/4-1S&A in Barents Sea license PL 530, using the semisub Aker Barents.
The location is 53 nautical miles (98 km) north of Hammerfest, and 95 nautical miles (176 km) north-northwest of Banak. Water depth is around 302 m (991 ft).
Drilling, due to start next month, should take 55 days, plus a further 22 days in the event of a side track.
Premier Oil Norge has clearance to drill well 9/1-1S in PL 406 in the North Sea, using the semisubBredford Dolphin.
The well will be drilled in 87 m (285 ft) water depth, 26 km (16 mi) northwest of the Yme field and 150 km (93 mi) southwest of Stavanger
Operations will not start before August at the earliest, with an estimated duration of 46-71 days, depending on results.
In the Norwegian Sea, Statoil has consent to pursue modifications to the Njord A platform to accommodate gas and condensate from its Njord Nordvestflanken (NNVF) development project.
NNVF is part of PL 107, in block 6407/7, around 5 km (3.1 mi) northwest of Njord A.
Modifications include drilling facility and process upgrades, process safety measures related to topside modifications, installation of risers, and a christmas tree upgrade.
These measures should extend Njord’s gas export plateau and its life span by two to three years, as well as providing increased flexibility for disposal of gas.
ConocoPhillips Skandinavia has approval to use the living quarter jackup COSLRigmar (ex-Port Rigmar) at the Eldfisk 2/7 FTP platform in the North Sea through to July 1, 2015.
The COSLRigmar will be moored southeast of Eldfisk 2/7 FTP, and linked via a gangway connection. It can accommodate 320 personnel.
Finally, BP Norge has consent for continued use of the living quarter flotels MSV Regalia and Safe Scandinavia on the Valhall field in the North Sea.
MSV Regalia will now stay on site until Oct. 18, with Safe Scandinavia remaining until March 31, 2012.
