Gulf of Mexico oil companies take storm precautions

HOUSTON – Tropical Storm Don has generated some precautions by Gulf of Mexico operators, reports Dow Jones.

BP, Royal Dutch Shell, Anadarko Petroleum, Apache Corp., and BHP Billiton have evacuated nonessential personnel from platforms in the Gulf as a result of the storm threat. The companies say there is no effect on production at this time.
