Aker Solutions is strengthening its capacity in the solids control and drilling waste management services market by establishing a new entity, which aims to offer a full range of services to the global onshore and offshore drilling market.

OSLO, Norway – Aker Solutions is strengthening its capacity in the solids control and drilling waste management services market by establishing a new entity, which aims to offer a full range of services to the global onshore and offshore drilling market. The company, STEP Oiltools, is a joint venture between Aker Solutions' wholly-owned subsidiary, STEP Offshore, and Chris Pianca.

Pianca brings more than 40 years of experience in the drilling waste management business and has gathered a management team with extensive experience in all aspects of the business.

The initial focus will be on the representation of the Derrick Equipment Co. in Russia, the Caspian and West Africa. This includes the complete range of solids control equipment, screen surfaces and spare parts.

Secondly, operations will begin in Russia, the Caspian, Asia and the Middle East as a quality service and leasing company primarily of solids control equipment and filtration products.

The long range vision for the company is to offer a fully integrated package which will include the full range of solids control, drilling waste management and filtration services supported by a first-class service organization throughout the world.
