HOUSTON – TGS has an agreement with Dolphin Geophysical to jointly acquire, process and market multi-client 2D seismic data offshore northwest Africa.

The survey will provide 25,000 km (15,534 mi) of long-offset seismic data off numerous countries. They have based the program on their analysis of the region’s geology.

TGS says the data will improve the understanding of highly prospective areas along the Northwest African Passive Margin.

To date around 10,000 km (6,214 mi) of seismic data has been acquired using the M/V Artemis Atlantic. Remaining acquisition will continue through the second half of 2011.

TGS will handle the processing, and expects to make certain data available to clients from late 2011 onwards.
