Subsea 7, Petronas team up on Kumang

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Petronas Carigali has awarded Subsea 7 Malaysia an engineering program for the Kumang Cluster project offshore Malaysia.

The project involves transportation and installation of subsea structures, 5 km (3.1 mi) of umbilical cable, pipeline jumpers and electrical flying leads, and pre-commissioning of a 24-in. (61-cm) 5-km pipeline and a new umbilical serving Kumang field.

A Subsea 7/Petronas Carigali will team will deliver the project, with most of the operations performed employing diverless intervention techniques. The program will be conducted in two phases this year using the Rockwater 2.
