STAVANGER, Norway – BP Norge says the Skarv FPSO will remain at the Kvaerner Stord yard until mid-July.

The extended stay is due to the need to perform further pressure testing of the process plant, and to undertake completion and hand over of equipment and systems.

BP Norge says its priority is safe, compliant, and efficient start-up of production from the Skarv/Idun fields in the Norwegian Sea, which has now been deferred from summer to fall 2011.

During the period between tow-out and start up, the vessel will be installed and connected to the subsea infrastructure. The program will include pull-in of risers, completion of commissioning and full system integration tests, and start up preparations.
