MILAN, Italy – Saipem has won engineering and construction offshore contracts in with a combined value of more than $1 billion.
In Egypt, Burullus Gas Co. contracted Saipem for subsea development work in the West Delta Deep Marine Concession area. The location is around 90 km (56 mi) offshore the northwest Nile delta, in water depths between 400 and 1,000 m (1,312-3,281 ft).
The program comprises engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of seven new subsea wellheads, umbilicals, and flowlines. These will be connected to existing infrastructure, mainly using the Saipem FDS construction vessel.
In the Norwegian and UK sectors of the North Sea, the Saipem 7000 has been lined up for platform transportation and installation, and the Castoro 7 for installation of a subsea pipeline and associated structures. The work will be performed during summer 2012 and 2013.
Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) contracted Saipem for the expansion of structures associated with the CPC marine export terminal, near Yuhznaya Ozereyevka on the Black Sea shore in Russia’s Krasnodar region.
The development project includes engineering, procurement, and installation of a new 5-km (3.1-mi), 42-in. (107-cm) offshore export pipeline for hydrocarbon transportation, and a new offshore mooring system for hydrocarbon export. Offshore activities will be performed during the second half of 2012 using the S355 vessel.
Saipem has also agreed to increase the scope of its work on existing contracts in the Caspian Sea and the Gulf of Mexico.
