ABERDEEN, UK – TCO In-Well Technologies UK has completed the first remote opening of its Tubing Disappearing Plug 2 (TDP-2) on a subsea well offshore the UK.

The operation, performed for an unnamed major operator, involved use of the company’s patented TDP-2 glass plug as a secure ISO 14310 V0-certified barrier.

The program called for the TDP-2 to serve as a pressure vessel to set the production packer at 4,500 psi. Once this had been achieved, the completion string was pressure tested for integrity.

Following landing of the Xtree, the TDP-2 glass plug was remotely pressure cycled to open without the need for intervention.
