STAVANGER, Norway – The Danish Energy Agency (DEA) has voiced concerns about a dispute regarding permanent repairs to the damaged Siri platform substructure in the Danish North Sea.
Recently, operator DONG Energy said it was committing to a solution, but this was rejected by partner Noreco as being too costly, and not its preferred choice.
DEA has sent a letter urging the partners to agree on a solution as soon as possible. Until then, DEA will not process DONG’s application regarding its proposed way forward.
Nor will DEA intervene in the decision process, although it reserves the right to use coercive means if the necessary steps are not taken.
Further, DEA says there is insufficient documentation to show that Noreco's alternative repair method complies with regulatory requirements.
