Technip assigned Vigdis NE subsea spread

Statoil has contracted Technip for subsea installations for its Vigdis NE field development in the Norwegian Sea, in water depths of 220-310 m (722-1,017 ft).

PARIS -- Statoil has contracted Technip for subsea installations for its Vigdis NE field development in the Norwegian Sea, in water depths of 220-310 m (722-1,017 ft).

The €55-million ($79 million) contract covers welding and installation of flowlines, including a 1.5-km (0.9-mi) pipe-in-pipe production flowline and a 9-km (5.6-mi) plastic-lined water injection flowline; supply and connection of associated flexible tails; installation of subsea equipment; and installation/tie-ins of jumpers and umbilicals.

Technip’s center in Oslo, Norway, will manage the work, with flowline welding handled at company’s spoolbase in Orkanger, Norway. TheApache II vessel will perform flowline installations in mid-2012.
