LONDON -- Premier Oil expects to sign a sale and purchase agreement soon for the Solan field west of Shetland in the UK sector. The company expects to receive sanction for the development plan before year-end.

Among Premier’s other current UK projects, development drilling has started at Huntington in the central North Sea and the field is on track for first oil in early 2012.

In the Rochelle area, a pre-unitization agreement will allow Premier to participate in a combined Rochelle development with 15% equity.

The formal concept selection process for EnCore’s Catcher field development will start soon, and the partners are aiming for project sanction in mid-2012.

The UK 28/9 (Catcher) joint venture partners plan to acquire new 3D data across the block to optimize placement of future exploration and appraisal wells. This follows a recent exploration drilling campaign that culminated in March in the Burgman discovery.

In the Norwegian North Sea, the Gardrofa exploratory well, adjacent to the BG-operated Bream field, will be drilled this summer.

Offshore Vietnam, Premier plans to drill the Jackfruit prospect on block 104-109/05 during the second half of this year. It is currently evaluating results from its recent Cá Rong Ðo 2x well to assess requirements for further appraisal drilling next year.
