New Angostura phase starts offshore Trinidad

PARIS– Total reports the start-up of Phase II gas development of the Greater Angostura field offshore Trinidad and Tobago. This phase produces natural gas from the Aripo field through a new production platform installed along side Phase I facilities.

The National Gas Co. of Trinidad and Tobago Ltd. is taking the gas.

Upon completion, Phase II will have a design capacity of 280 MMcf/d (7.9 MMcm/d) from the field that is 40 km (25 mi) offshore in 40 m (132 ft) of water. Greater Angostura consists of the Aripo, Kairi, and Canteen fields.

Total holds 30%, BHP Billiton carried 45% and is the operator, and Chaoyang has the remaining 25%.
