Lamprell wins jackup refurb orders

Lamprell has won contracts for jackup rig upgrades and refurbishment with a combined value of $57 million.

SHARJAH, UAE -- Lamprell has won contracts for jackup rig upgrades and refurbishment with a combined value of $57 million.

These include commissions from Nabors International for rigs 655 and 656, and a $27.5-million program of conversion works on the Rig Burj, owned and operated by Burj LLC, part of the Millennium Offshore Services group.

This is a multi-purpose jackup capable of operating in water depths of 330 ft (100 m), which will be converted into an accommodation platform for over 250 personnel.

Work on these projects will be performed at Lamprell's Sharjah and Hamriyah facilities.
