LEIDSCHENDAM, the Netherlands -- Fugro is set to acquire JDR Cable Systems Holdings Netherlands and its marine cable subsidiary JDR Cable Systems BV.

Together they comprise JDR's Marine Cables division, designing and producing specialized cables for applications in oil and gas (subsea lead-in, array and control cables); seismic acquisition (airgun umbilicals, lead-ins); and defense (towed arrays).

The facility is based near Rotterdam with around 110 employees. Fugro says the division, which will be re-named De Regt Marine Cables, will continue to operate as an independent unit, with further development of its product range.
