BLYTH, UK -- Total has contracted FES International to supply diverless bend-stiffener connectors (DBSCs) for installation on the CLOV FPSO on block 17 offshore Angola.

The connectors are designed to facilitate fast and efficient installation of riser and umbilical bend stiffeners in congested or confined areas. The latching mechanisms have been tailored to Total’s requirement, providing an automatic intervention which is said to lead to safer and more reliable connections.
