BLYTH, UK – FES International will provide a variety of subsea components for Ithaca Energy’s Athena field development in the UK North Sea.

Under a contract worth almost $1 million, the company will supply Wellstream with diverless bend stiffener connectors Duco with dynamic umbilicals for the project in block 14/18b in the Outer Moray Firth.

Athena is being developed using the moored FPSO vessel BW Athena, offloading oil to tandem-moored shuttle tankers.

FES’ connectors are designed to assist quick, efficient and cost effective installation of riser and umbilical bend stiffeners, particularly in congested or confined areas. The latching mechanisms are tailored and manufactured to suit Wellstream and Duco’s requirements.
