Bach Ho separation upgrade could benefit CNV

LONDON -- The Hoan Vu Joint Operating Co. is negotiating with Vietsovpetro concerning the producing Ca Ngu Vang (CNV) field in block 9-2, offshore southern Vietnam.

According to CNV partner SOCO International, these could lead to Vietsovpetro installing further dedicated test separation facilities on its Bach Ho central processing platform complex, in order to more accurately measure liquid and gas production from CNV as this enters the Bach Ho facilities.

This would provide a more accurate allocation of CNV oil, gas, and gas liquids production within the Bach Ho production system.

In block 16-1, SOCO says batch drilling of the TGT-4P to -7P development wells has been completed. This year’s development drilling program for the H1 unmanned platform concluded with TGT-8P, the eighth development well.

All the wells, currently suspended, will be perforated to become producing wells on start-up of production, scheduled this August. SOCO expects plateau production during this first phase of development to reach 55,000 b/d.

Earlier this month, the government of Vietnam approved the full development plan for the TGT field, incorporating the accelerated second-phase development which involves installation of a second unmanned production platform on the H4 fault block.

Recently the topsides were placed on the H1 jacket, and installation of the H4 jacket for second phase drilling and production is complete. The H4 drilling deck currently is being installed. Second-phase drilling should add up to 40,000 b/d to the field’s production potential in summer 2012.

The government also has agreed to the extension period for the TGD Appraisal area, initially through April 30, 2012, and through to Oct. 31, 2012, if the partners commit to a well.

Presently, 3D seismic acquisition options are under review. Work on a 150-sq km (58-mi) 3D program should start in July.
