Arch failure puts Olowi offline

CALGARY, Canada -- Production at the Olowi Field offshore Gabon has been suspended, according to operator Canadian Natural Resources (CNR).

This follows a failure of the mid-water arch, a buoy structure providing support for production and gas lift flowlines and the main power line.

CNR says all necessary safety and environmental precautions were conducted for the temporary shutdown. Current activities are being monitored, and an evaluation is being completed.
