ABERDEEN, UK -- Hess has contracted DOF Subsea UK to provide diver-less decommissioning services on the Ivanhoe/Rob Roy field in the UK North Sea. The contract value is around $8 million.

The 21-day project, due to start this summer, will be performed from DOF’s new multipurpose support vessel Skandi Skansen. The program involves the engineering and recovery of four mid-water arches, eight flexible risers, and associated structures and umbilicals.

DOF says this will be one of the first diver-less decommissioning projects in the North Sea.
