STOCKHOLM, Sweden -- The jackup Ensco 85 will shortly spud the first development well on the Didon North field offshore Tunisia, according to operator PA Resources (PAR). Production should start flowing through the Didon facilities during the second half of 2011.

In the same region, unitization is progressing of the Zarat field, which entails allocation of the oil reserves between PAR’s' Zarat license and Sonde Resources' adjoining 7th of November license.

The parties are co-operating on data exchange, and on integrating study results in various models. A revised field development plan should be issued toward end-2011.

PAR expects analysis to be completed shortly of 3D seismic data acquired last year over the southern parts of Tunisia’s offshore Zarat license - the focus of that survey was on the Elyssa discovery.

In parallel, 3D seismic data-sets of Zarat and Elyssa from 2004 are being processed using the same parameters, in order to generate more comprehensive documentation.

Tunisia is preparing for planned general elections in July. The political situation is affecting all activities in the country, PAR points out, i.e. through logistical disruptions and union actions. Although the company’s operations have not been affected greatly to date, this situation may not last.
