HOUSTON – At this year’s Offshore Technology Conference, Nexans says it will put the spotlight on laying and protecting cables for subsea applications in addition to its power cable and umbilical design, production, and installation services.

As for laying cables, the C/S Nexans Skagerrak, with its Capjet trenching system, has a 7,000-metric ton (7,716-ton) capacity turntable, a state-of-the-art global positioning system, and multiple cranes to help with installations.

The Capjet system is used to protect submarine cables, umbilicals, and pipelines using a water jetting principal.

Nexans also will show its specialized systems for direct electrical heating of flowlines.
