    Subsea 7 to lay Tordis pipelines

    Statoil has awarded Subsea 7 a $70-million SURF contract for a project in the Tordis area of the Norwegian North Sea.

    LUXEMBOURG -- Statoil has awarded Subsea 7 a $70-million SURF contract for a project in the Tordis area of the Norwegian North Sea.

    Subsea 7 will engineer, procure, and install two 10-in. (25.4-cm) 12-km (7.5-mi) oil production pipelines, and the associated pull-in to Gullfaks C and tie-in at the Tordis PLIM.

    Offshore operations will start later this year, continuing into 2012.
