STAVANGER, Norway -- Statoil has contracted Aker Subsea to supply three subsea work-over systems for use offshore Norway.

The estimated contract value is around NOK 1.25 billion ($230 million). Statoil exercised its options for this equipment under a contract awarded to Aker Solutions in February for a single workover system for the Vigdis North East development.

Aker Solutions' Tranby Technology and Manufacturing Centre outside Oslo, Norway, will manage the project, also manufacturing the well control package and riser elements. The company’s branch in Aberdeen, UK, will assemble the workover control module.
