    MPX takes up North Sea drilling slots

    Awilco Drilling has signed a contract to drill one firm and one optional well for MPX North Sea, using the Enhanced Pacesetter semisubmersible WilHunter.

    ABERDEEN, UK -- Awilco Drilling has signed a contract to drill one firm and one optional well for MPX North Sea, using the Enhanced Pacesetter semisubmersible WilHunter.

    These represent the second and third well of SPD multi-client, multi-well 2011 drilling campaign in the North Sea. The contract value for the firm part is around $11 million. The contract should start early in July.

    WilHunter is completing its five-year survey and an accommodation upgrade at Remontowa Shipyard in Poland. It should depart early next month.
