MODEC receives Angola block 31 floater

SINGAPORE -- Jurong Shipyard has completed conversion of the FPSO PSVM for MODEC. The vessel will deploy in 2,000 m (6,561 ft) of water in the BP-operated Plutão, Saturno, Vênus, and Marte (PSVM) development in block 31 offshore Angola.

The vessel features include one of the largest external turrets ever constructed for a floater and topside modules weighing over 20,000 metric tons (22,046 tons) in total.

FPSO PSVM is designed for up to 20 years of offshore service without the need for dry docking. It will be capable of processing 157,000 b/d of oil and 245 MMcf/d of produced gas, withn oil storage capacity of 1.8 MMbbl.

The vessel was converted from the VLCC Ex-Bourgogne. Conversion involved installation of an external turret mooring system and process facilities, which include gas turbine generators, oil separation, gas injection/gas lift, and water injection systems.
