TEHRAN, Iran -- Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Co. is working on projects with a combined value of $9 billion.

Managing Director Ali Taheri told Iranian news service Shana that the company was involved in 14 offshore programs in the Persian Gulf, including nine phases of the South Pars development, and the Forozan oilfield project.

He expected all South Pars phases to come onstream as scheduled during the next 35 months.

Taheri said that 710 km (441 mi) of new gas lines would be laid this year in the Persian Gulf, adding that Iranian company Global Petro Tech has been contracted for development drilling on South Pars Phase XIV.

At Forozan, he added, the current practice of flaring gas would be stopped shortly, by transferring supplies to Kharg Island via a new offshore pipeline.

He also claimed that IOEC plans to participate in bids for oil and gas projects outside Iran, including Brazil.
