RUGBY, UK --
Transas Russian fleet has contracted Converteam to supply C-Series dynamic position control systems for two platform supply vessels. These will support operations in oil and gas fields offshore northern Russia.

St Petersburg-based Transas is providing integrated solutions for all major navigation and communication systems to the shipyard, Amurskiy Shipbuilding factory, in Komsomolosk in eastern Russia.

The ships are under construction for Gazflot, the exploration and support subsidiary of Gazprom, and should be operational next year.

Previously Converteam supplied electrical systems and positioning equipment for Gaflot’s two newbuild semisubmersible drilling rigs that are presently at work offshore Sakhalin Island.
