ZHUOZHOU HEBEI, China -- The BGP Challenger has completed a 2D seismic survey offshore eastern Oman for Circle Oil.

The work area was in block 52, close to the piracy-prone waters of Somalia and Yemen. To ensure the program was not disrupted, operator BGP drew up an emergency plan, and employed several personnel from security specialist IBS.

However, other challenges arose. Fishing boats and their nets were active in the survey area, and their positions and movements were unpredictable. Nevertheless, the crew on the survey vessel coped, BGP claims, achieving strong productivity.
