BELO HORIZONTE, Brazil -- VAM Drilling will shortly open a fully integrated mill in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, capable of assembling a wide range of drill pipe, risers and landing strings.
Hector Arevalo, VP of South American Sales, said: “Because of the local steel production and pipe rolling capacities of Vallourec & Mannesmann do Brasil, the new mill will be able to provide full capabilities. We are the only fully integrated drill pipe manufacturer in the world that is able to guarantee its production process from steel making to final product assembly.”
The VAM Drilling mill, which will create up to 70 jobs, will serve operators as well as offshore and onshore drilling contractors. First production is due to start in April for an offshore contractor.
