Offshore staff
HOUSTON – Saudi Aramco has awarded a group led by Mustang Al-Hejailan Engineering, a Wood Group subsidiary, a five-year general engineering services contract.
It establishes a long-term framework for supply of engineering, procurement and construction management services to support offshore and onshore oil and gas projects in Saudi Arabia. The contract has options for three one-year extension.
Release of work is contingent on Mustang Al-Hejailan Engineering finalizing agreements to combine with Saudi-owned engineering businesses, Dar E&C (the second largest participant in the bidding group) and PI-Consult.
If this goes through, the three companies would form a new in-Kingdom engineering and project management services provider, led by Mustang.
Saudi Aramco selects services from approved contractors that evaluated to meet strict standards and specifications. The bidding group had to provide comprehensive documentation of capabilities and processes, along with consistent proof of quality.
The evaluation process included independent audits, surveys, quality management system assessments, reviews of engineering capabilities, and an in-Kingdom business plan.
Mustang Al-Hejailan Engineering, 55% owned by Mustang, is based in Al Khobar.
