Subsea7 to install Huntington network

E.ON Rurhgas UK E&P has contracted Subsea7 for installations for the Huntington project in the central North Sea.

ABERDEEN, UK -- E.ON Rurhgas UK E&P has contracted Subsea7 for installations for the Huntington project in the central North Sea.

The contract work scope includes installing 12 km (7.5 mi) of the 8-in. (20.3-cm) gas export pipeline; the infield flexible flowlines, main static umbilical and associated risers; and installation of subsea structures followed by tie-ins, pre-commissioning, and system testing.

Engineering has started in Aberdeen. Several vessels in Subsea7’s fleet will be engaged in installations through to 2012.

Huntington is 140 nautical miles (161 mi or 259 km) northeast of Aberdeen in UK block 22/14, in water depths of 90 m (295 ft). E.ON Ruhrgas UK E&P is operator with a 25 % interest.
