San Leon seeks to galvanize Irish exploration

San Leon Energy has updated its exploration activities offshore northwest Europe and North Africa.

DUBLIN, Ireland -- San Leon Energy has updated its exploration activities offshore northwest Europe and North Africa.

Following its acquisition of Island Oil & Gas, the company continues to appraise its Atlantic margin assets offshore western Ireland and to bring in farm-in partners. So far, seven parties have signed confidentiality agreements to review the data.

In North Porcupine license FEL 1/04, San Leon plans to acquire 3D seismic this summer. In Slyne license FEL 4/06, the company has started interpretation of some fasttrack seismic lines from last summer’s 300-sq km (116 sq mi) 3D seismic survey. Processing should be wrapped up by the end of March, with full interpretation due to be completed by early June.

San Leon is also seeking a farm-in partner for South Porcupine license FEL 3/08.

Offshore the Netherlands, San Leon is a participating a current well on the Amstel field drilled by new operator GDF SUEZ E&P Nederland.

And offshore Morocco, full re-interpretation is nearing completion of seismic data on the Foum Draa and Sidi Moussa licenses. San Leon plans to seek farm-in partners for drilling.
