ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan -- Dragon Oil has tested and completed two more development wells on the Cheleken Contract Area fields in the Caspian Sea.
The Dzheitune (Lam) 28/152 well was drilled to a depth of 3,768 m (12,362 ft) and completed as a dual producer by the NIS rig. The short string tested oil initially at 2,091 b/d with the long string testing at 1,372 b/d. NIS has since skidded to the next slot to spud the Dzheitune (Lam) 28/154 well.
The Iran Khazar drilled the Dzheitune (Lam) B/153 well to a depth of 3,668 m (12,034 ft), completing it with dual strings. Initially, the short string tested 1,080 b/d and the long string 1,348 b/d. Iran Khazar is now drilling the Dzheitune (Lam) B/155 well.
These were the first two of Dragon’s planned 11-well program this year.
"Following the transition over to the new 30-in. (76-cm) trunkline and associated in-field pipelines, we are continuing to see strong average daily production rates in excess of 57,000 b/d in February and March 2011," said CEO Dr. Abdul Jaleel Al Khalifa.
