McDermott outlines $700-million in new contracts

HOUSTON – McDermott International Inc. reports the award of several contracts for offshore engineering and construction projects with a combined value of more than $700 million.

A turnkey engineering, procurement, construction, and installation contract covers several platforms and subsea facilities in the Arabian Gulf plus modifications to existing infrastructure and more than 100 km (62 mi) of rigid and flexible pipelines and cables. Construction will be at Jebel Ali in the UAE. McDermott’s new pipelay barge LB32 and the DB27 are expected to support the installation.

A second award is for installation of a jacket and topside offshore the east coast of India. That work, scheduled to begin soon, will use the DB101.

The last of the jobs is engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and pre-commissioning of pipelines, cables, umbilicals, and subsea tie-ins in the Caspian Sea.
