AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands – A new water-base drilling fluid for high-pressure /high-temperature drilling is now available from M-I SWACO.
The new fluid, ENVIROTHERM NT, can be used in temperatures to 450ºF (232ºC) and at weights to 19 ppg (2.3 g/cu cm), says M-I SWACO. The fluid also is stable when contaminated with soluble calcium salt and acid gas.
As a water-base mud, it also is environmentally friendly.
