Lundin ready to drill North Sea target

Lundin Norway has approval from Petroleum Safety Authority Norway to drill an exploration well in the Norwegian North Sea.

OSLO, Norway -- Lundin Norway has approval from Petroleum Safety Authority Norway to drill an exploration well in the Norwegian North Sea.

The semisubBredford Dolphin will spud well 16/3-4 this month in production license 501, 40 km (24.8 mi) southwest of the Grane and Balder fields, and 140 km (87 mi) offshore. Water depth is 117 m (384 ft).

Drilling will last 42 days, or up to 99 days if discoveries result that warrant formation testing and drilling of a sidetrack.
