TRONDHEIM, Norway -- Det norske oljeselskap is to transfer 10% in a Norwegian Sea license to Centrica Resources Norge.
Production license PL 522, covering blocks 6604/2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, is operated by BG and includes the Gullris prospect, in 1,300 m (4,265 ft) water depth. Drilling operations here will start soon, using the semisubmersibleAker Barents. The well is planned to a TD of 3,500 m (11,483 ft).
Gullris is between Norske Shell’s Gro and Statoil’s Asterix gas discoveries.
The transaction, which will reduce Det norske’s stake in the license to 10%, is subject to approval by the Norwegian authorities.
