ZHUOZHOU, China – BGP is running a 2D seismic survey in the Red Sea that encompasses a variety of environments and technologies.

Terrains include not only shallow water islands, coral reef, offshore ports and offshore oilfield infrastructure, but also muddy beaches and cities.

Three different seismic sources are involved: vibroseis, explosives, and air guns. For the recording, both a cable system and a node system are used simultaneously. Three types of sensors, geophones, marsh phones, and dual sensors were used in the cable system, while the seabed node system is for waters more than 50 m (165 ft) deep.
