OSLO, Norway -- Aker Solutions reports it is one of two remaining candidates for Woodside’ Browse LNG floating production systems offshore Western Australia.
Front-end engineering design is under way and the engineer, procure, construct, and install tender will be submitted mid-year, with the winner to be announced by yearend.
The Browse LNG development is a joint venture comprising Woodside, BHP Billiton, BP, Chevron, and Shell. It involves processing gas and condensate from three offshore fields.
The partners have opted for a scheme including floating platforms, fixed jacket platforms, and an onshore LNG facility. Aker Solutions is in the delivery competition for the floating platforms, two TLPs, which will be the first deployed off Australia.
Aker will deliver the FEED from its engineering offices in Oslo and Perth.
