TORONTO – WesternGeco has completed two seismic surveys for Adira Energy offshore Israel. These involved compiling dual-azimuth 3D surveys of 511-km. (317-mi.) and 129-km. (80 mi) over, respectively, the Gabriella and Yitzchak licenses.

The results should help Adira define anticipated oil targets on both permits. CGGVeritas in the UK will process the data, with the work due to be completed this summer.

Adira Energy also has signed a definitive joint operating agreement (JOA) with its partners in Gabriella, Modiin Energy Ltd Partnership and Brownstone Energy, and a second JOA agreement with its Yitzhak license partner, Brownstone.

As for the shallow water Samuel, Adira has signed a definitive JOA with Geo Global Resources (GGR), Brownstone, and Pinetree Capital. Adira and GGR are joint operators of this concession.

In a separate development, Adira has contracted Russian geophysical group ARIS Nefterazvedka for services involving ocean bottom deployed cables.

Aris’ system provides high resolution recording of targets with little impact on surface traffic, and is suited to shallow transient zones. The contractor is preparing to mobilize and the issuing of permits is under way. Adira expects this program to start during the third week of April and to last about 40 days.
