Offshore staff
TEHRAN -- Oil production in the Lavan region of southern Iran has risen by 11% over the past three years to a current 98,000 b/d, according to National Iranian Offshore Oil Co. (NIOC).
The Reshadat and Resalat fields in the Persian Gulf each contribute 16,000 b/d, their maximum capacity. Production is transferred to Lavan Island for processing via a 98-km (61-mi), 18-in. (45.7-cm), subsea pipeline.
Mahmoud Ebrahimi, head of the Lavan Oil Region at NIOC, told Iranian news service Shana that the resultant processed light crude is one of the best produced in the Persian Gulf. Other contributors include the Salman offshore field
The Resaladat and Reshadat platforms were damaged during the Iran/Iraq war, but were re-built in 1988 with oil production resuming shortly afterwards.
