HOUSTON -- Endeavour International has won approval from the UK’s Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) for its Rochelle gas/condensate field development plan.

The accumulation, in block 15/27 in the central North Sea, has been renamed East Rochelle. This project will represent Phase I of the development of the Greater Rochelle area.

Endeavour chairman William L. Transier said: "With the added discovery announced in October 2010, we plan to integrate West Rochelle into this development plan, as Phase II, with production estimated to begin in 2012."

East Rochelle will be developed via subsea facilities and a 30-km(18 ½-mi) pipeline linked to the Nexen-operated Scott platform. Endeavour has a 55.6 % operating interest in the development, the remainder held by Nexen.
