LONDON– BG Group has appointed AMEC to provide engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project management for all its facilities in the UK central North Sea. These include the BG-operated Armada, North Everest, and Lomond platforms.

The three-year, £140-million ($192-million) contract is in addition to AMEC’s existing contract to support BG on the Armada complex.

Development projects under the new award include the subsea tiebacks from the Gaupe and North West Seymour wells to the Armada platform hub, and a new subsea tieback to the North Everest platform hub.

It also includes a feasibility study for continued development of the Armada platform as a processing hub.

BG has commissioned new additional living Quarters (ALQs) on the North Everest platform, installation of which was due to start this month.
