GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands – Hess ApS has signed a $55-million contract for Subsea 7 Inc. to provide a pipeline bundle for the South Arne field development in the Danish North Sea.

Subsea 7 is to engineer, procure, fabricate, install and commission the 2.2 km (1.4 mi) bundle, and also to do the associated subsea tie-ins, testing, and pre-commissioning.

Subsea 7 says the pipeline bundle, which incorporates required flow lines, water injection, gas lift, and control systems into a single pipe, will be installed using the controlled depth tow technique to connect Wellhead Platform East and Wellhead Platform West in South Arne field. Those platforms are scheduled for installation in 2012.

South Arne is in block DK5604/20 in 60 m (197 ft) of water.
