PORT STANLEY, Falkland Islands -- Desire Petroleum has suffered further disappointment with its latest exploration effort in the North Falkland basin.

The 25/5-1 well on the Dawn/Jacinta prospect, drilled by the semisubmersibleOcean Guardian, has reached a depth of 1,313 m (4,308 ft). Drilling and wireline logging data have identified no hydrocarbons in the Jacinta prospect. The well is now being deepened to the planned TD of around 1,670 m (5,479 ft) to evaluate the deeper Dawn prospect.

Senergy (GB) is providing subsurface support.
