LONDON -- E.ON Ruhrgas and its partners in the Huntington field development in the UK North Sea have signed a leasing contract for the FPSO Sevan Voyageur.
The vessel is currently in the Nymo yard in Arendal, Norway, where it will undergo gas compression and water injection upgrades. It should be installed on the Huntington field during 4Q 2011, with first production expected in 1Q 2012.
Huntington was discovered by Oilexco in block 22/14b 2007. The initial development will focus on the Forties Palaeocene reservoir, with up to four producer wells and two water injectors.
The FPSO, which will be leased from Sevan Production UK for an initial five-year term, will have capacity to produce 30,000 b/d of oil. Huntington’s gas will be exported via a pipeline into the UK’s Central Area Transmission System trunkline. The development cost is estimated at $513 million.
Huntington is operated by E.ON Ruhrgas, in partnership with Premier Oil, Altinex Oil, and Carrizo Oil & Gas.
Sevan Marine has awarded Wood Group the five-year operations and maintenance contract for the Sevan Voyageur, which was formerly deployed on the short-lived Shelley development.
As duty holder, appointed by E.ON Ruhrgas, Wood Group is responsible for operations management and offshore technical, logistical, and supply chain support on the FPSO.
Wood Group is also duty holder for the FPSO Sevan Hummingbird, which operates for Centrica Energy Upstream on the Chestnut field, also in the central sector.
